Best for: Very recommendable racket for those looking for a versatile racket, which will help in defense and be easy to handle. It doesn’t require much of us, it works well at low and high speeds. It can work for players of all levels. It only doesn’t suit those looking for power and aggression.

Where to Buy

Pros

  • Smashes are the place where this racket sins the most because its round shape and its core that absorbs more than its harder sister, the PR990 Precision Hard. But it still has a decent power. In the smashes, the ball goes OK, there’s some ball absorption in flat smashes, but it still allows you to accelerate the ball well. You can just feel a bit of weight missing in the head of the racket that would help with the leverage effect, but it’s still decent.

Cons

  • Volleys are one of the strong points of this racket, along with the back of the court. I felt very comfortable at the net with this racket. You feel the ball really well with this racket. No trouble if you miss the sweet spot slightly. You can slightly lose control at higher speeds.
  • Back of the court: Good handling, easy to play with, wide sweet spot, no problems if you slightly miss the sweet spot with your shot. Aerial game: It performs well in terms of handling. Of course, it doesn’t add as much weight to balls as a diamond would, but it has a core that accelerates the ball very well. I fell more comfortable when I play a little slower with this racket because the racket already puts the ball really deep “freely”. When you add a lot of speed, you have a slight slingshot effect.

About the Kuikma PR990 Precision Soft

PR990 Precision Soft

Kuikma’s PR990 line targets intermediate and advanced players with six rackets made in three shapes with two foam cores.

Shapes:

  • The Precision rackets are round-shaped (this model)
  • The Hybrid rackets are hybrid or teardrop-shaped

  • The Power rackets are diamond-shaped

Cores:

  • The Hard rackets have medium-high density EVA

  • The Soft rackets medium-low density EVA (this model)

The Precision Soft is the easiest to play with model of Kuikma’s PR990 line.

Targeted toward right-side or otherwise defensive players seeking maneuverability and comfort. This racket is not targeted at delivering max power or control.

Its sweet spot is enlarged by the round shape and the relatively soft core. Its three layers of fiberglass enclosed by a layer of 12K carbon fiber gives the racket a medium ball output, which can help you passing the ball from the back of the court, but result in a minor loss of control at high speeds at the net.

With the semi-reactive core’s bounce effect, this racket suits a player who prefers slow strokes or blocking volleys.

This is a great inexpensive alternative to the Nox ML10.
