Kuima’s PR990 Power Hard is designed for constant attackers seeking a medium-hard touch. This racket generates a lot of power, but it is not easy to play with. The diamond shape and hard touch results in a small sweet spot and below average ball output meaning that players will have to follow through on all their shots from the back of the court in order to pass the ball to the other side.
It is not the hardest of power-oriented rackets though, which makes it easier than others. Its surface is made of three layers of fiberglass, wrapped in one layer of 12K carbon fiber, which gives it more elasticity than, for example, the Starvie Triton Pro.
Note that its hardness also results in the core absorbing few vibrations than a softer racket would. Multiple reviewers complained of higher than average vibrations.
Some reviewers complained about the quality of the undergrip. But at this price, a replacement could be purchased to resolve any issues and result in still coming out ahead of any comparable rackets by at least €100. It is truly amazing what Decathlon / Kuikma have done with the PR990 line.
