About the Adidas Metalbone HRD+ 2026

By Padel.fyi Team. Based on the external reviews linked below; we have not personally tested this racket.

The adidas Metalbone HRD+ 2026 suits an advanced attacker who prepares early and likes a firm impact. Its appeal is not effortless power from every position: the reviews describe a racket that becomes rewarding when the player supplies the timing and swing. If quick defensive adjustments matter more to you than overhead leverage, start with the CTRL comparison instead.

Evidence reviewed October 27, 2026. We processed Otro Nivel’s detailed three-model court comparison and Total Padel’s shorter playtest discussion. This page covers HRD+ 2026, not Metalbone 3.3 HRD+, the standard Metalbone 2026 or the Pro EDT.

What changes on court?

Defense: prepare before the ball arrives

Otro Nivel, 3:41–5:00, finds a firmer, less springy response than the standard Metalbone and emphasizes being on time. He can manage it in defense, but hurried contact is less accommodating. That makes it a better match for a player who sets up a full stroke than one who regularly rescues the ball with a late wrist movement.

Volleys: commit to the swing

His net comparison, 6:31–7:34, describes strong output when he uses the arm, with less ease from a small hand-led action. The benefit is pressure on a well-prepared volley; the cost is slower adjustment in quick exchanges. This is not evidence that adding every available weight will improve your net game.

Overheads: timing matters as much as stiffness

At 11:30–13:58, Otro Nivel likes the vibora, initially struggles with the smash, then gets better results after adapting. That sequence is useful: the impressive final shots do not erase the timing cost. His conclusion from 17:53 reserves the HRD+ for a narrower, technically capable group.

Total Padel’s actual playtest discussion, 3:02–4:15, corroborates the firmer, quicker impact response and greater demands compared with the standard version. Its brief account does not independently establish ratings for every performance dimension.

Which Metalbone should you choose?

  • Choose HRD+ if you already enjoy firm diamond rackets and can sustain early preparation through a match.
  • Compare the standard Metalbone 2026 for a softer core response within the attacking family.
  • Compare Metalbone CTRL 2026 if defensive handling and a more forgiving contact area take priority.

Is HRD+ simply the better Metalbone?

No. It changes the demands and feel. Both review discussions leave room for a player to prefer another version; more stiffness is not a universal upgrade.

Are the displayed ratings the reviewer’s own scores?

No. The dimension ratings are Padel.fyi interpretations of Otro Nivel’s playing account. His separate overall verdict is not a four-category scorecard. Total Padel remains unscored here. Read our review methodology for how we separate testimony and interpretation.

Evidence and buying limitations

Otro Nivel’s video promotes a JustPadel discount; Total Padel is a retailer. These are external playtests with commercial relationships, not manufacturer-independent laboratory measurements. We have not established a current exact-model retailer offer for this page, so no price or stock claim is supplied. Check the model year, HRD+ marking, sample weight and return terms before buying.
